Feathers in Her Hair

Feathers in Her Hair
Digital painting 2015

She stares over the darkening horizon, thoughts of discontent dancing in the distance of her thoughts. Memories of happiness, and of innocence haunt her days in a foggy melancholy. A pale gloom lurking by her every step.

She wears feathers in her hair to help her remember the joy she once held. To help her remember the hope of what the future had held. To remember peace, and to remember excitement.

The complications of adulthood are her future now. The horrors and the cruelty of her peers are her current reality.

But still, she wonders.

Can she once again be innocent? Can she once again feel clean, and unashamed?

Is there still the possibility of hope?

Of escape?

This surreal fantasy portrait was based off of my own photography, and was created with a combination of photo manipulation and digital painting using Corel Painter 2015, Adobe Photoshop Cs6, and a Wacom Intuos Pro tablet.

Prints and merchandise are available at Society6 and Inprnt
